In Memory

Kurt Reiber

Even though he didn't actually graduate with us, I would like to include Kurt Reiber. Sadly, Kurt took his own life in our junior year. He was one of the sweetest and saddest people I knew. I only wish I had known at the time how deep that sadness ran. I hope you will all remember him. I will never forget.

Kindly,
Tamian (Puggy)

Kurt Reiber was one of the nicest guys I have ever met. I met him my freshman year in English-he was so cute, but so shy. We became friends and he nicknamed me "Boo"-not sure why. We drifted apart during our junior year and I will never forget when I heard that he had taken his life. His funeral was one of the saddest I have ever attended. I hope Kurt is in a much better place now and happier than he could ever be. I think of him a lot and wish I could turn back time and help him through his grief. He will always have a special place in my heart.

I grew up in the same neighborhood as Kurt. He was one of the kids who played in the neighborhood games of kick the can and capture the flag. The games would go on for hours and they were a blast. It was always great to be on Kurt's team particularly in kick the can. He was a master at game strategy.

Kurt was a great person and he always was hanging out with the Sewell gang. He had an amazingly funny persona and was a terrific basketball player although he never really pursued that aspect of his life. He was one of the first "Sewell Bombers" and I think of him often.

Kurt lived just a few houses down the street from me. We were very close in the early elementary school years and spent so many hours building forts, playing kick the can and capture the flag and having water ballon fights in my dad's constuction lot next to our house. In case Mona (mom) is reading this, he was a special friend and I loved him very much.

Kurt and I had a driving safety class together. One of the nicest guys in the world. I was at Park Mall and ran into him the day before he died.

We were watching a demonstration of someone shooting basketballs, the guy shot 25 in a row, I'll never forget that. I asked Kurt how he was doing and he said "Great" and I said, see you tomorrow at school......

If I remember right, he could play a mean 9 ball in pool.
